This stone formed part of the lintel from the synagogue which originally stood on the Road to Lechaeum. It has the inscription, "Synagogue of the Hebrews"
It is not known whether this stone was from the synagogue where Paul preached on his visit to Corinth (Acts 18:4). If so, it would have been next door to the house belonging to Titus Justus, a worshipper of God, where the church met (Acts 18:7).
